Where to Eat



At the moment, the best places for dinner are:

  • Moonta Hotel – if you are looking for a pub meal, The Moonta, on the main street are serving the best meals and have reasonable prices.

  • Café Capella is also located on the main street of Moonta too and they have a fantastic menu and are a fav amongst the locals.

  • The Patio Motel and Restaurant is a lovely place to dine at the moment, overlooking Moonta Bay, and with tasty dishes at excellent restaurant prices.

  • Wallaroo Boathouse has some excellent seafood meals with sea views. Dining can be out in the open so best to visit here on a balmy night!



Lunch or breakfast

If you’re looking for some breakfast or lunch at the Copper Coast:

  • Taste the Yorke, featuring a range of local produce, is great! They also have home made sour dough from the well known Minlaton Bakery.Best coffee in town too (see our website deal for a two for one offer!)

  • The Gelateria Barn has fantastic brunch/lunch. Their homemade pancakes come with all kinds of fillings and are scrumptious! They also have homemade gelati which is unbeatable for an afternoon snack. They are situated just out of Moonta on the Moonta-Maitland Road.

  • The Cornish Kitchen, just off the main street of Moonta, has our famous Cornish pasties and they are definitely worth a try.

  • Nick’s Bakery also do yumm Cornish pasties

  • Café Capella also offers a great breakfast and lunch if you’re looking for a larger meal.

  • For the healthy ones amongst us, try Nook & Nourish or Health on George.

  • If you’re keen to venture further afield, The Smelter at Wallaroo offers a delicious menu. While Café Mia on the foreshore is another good place to stop.



If you’re after a nice wine for your stay, there are two bottle-o’s in town – one at The Moonta Pub and the other at The Royal.
